Excellent- enjoyed the read David. I visited Cambodia a few years ago - by motorcycle no less - so your story brought back some feels - albeit it as stressful as yours.

I lived these times in college, and obviously all since Eisenhower. I really enjoy the 1st person accounts David. I find it interesting as well, to read the contemporary news!

Did folks notice the Senate vote to set a 60 vote filibuster limit? What is sheer mockery today, is the reason: to limit debate and move on. They had apparently a 2 week stall on some matters. Watergate was in full swing then.

But I failed to read where the Senate 60 vote rule was to be used as a weapon by McConnell and Republicans 40-50 years later.

So much for "original meaning". A term conservatives use a fickle self-serving convenience!
