I have read articles advocating the abandonment of agriculture to enable the tall prairie grasses to return. Then, a repopulation of the place with American Bison, which once roamed the North American grasslands in the millions.

The spread of Putin shadow into Africa, etc. is horrifying; however, I can't see how the Biden Admin. has a choice in Niger; fighting the Russian octopus requires respect for sitting governments. There are many other instruments than another invading army, I suppose.

With your perfect French, you might provide readers the many-layered translation of the title Le Canard enchaîné: Canard, French slang, means 'potshot', 'false rumor', 'news rag', and the verb canarder means 'to take potshots'; also, enchaîné means, not only chained, but 'continuously' or 'follow-up', i.e., 'taking one potshot after another in a satirical rag'.
The Economist objects to the colonists' federalism, okay. But I'd like to see this penciled out: Yet net immigration, too, has been falling since the 1990s.
